Orchid Guitars is a trading name of Ariel Composite Technologies Limited, formed in 1996.

Ariel CompTech Ltd. carries out Research and Development, and prototyping work for automotive, aerospace and marine companies in the UK and worldwide.

The guitar technology evolved from the manufacturing of small pressure vessels for Formula 1 and other top echelon motorsports, where it was found that by altering the material specification and manufacturing parameters, the acoustic properties of a moulding could be manipulated.
